CHOP VERVITCLE

Finding the balance of support between right and left

Andrew Krysciak, 2025

Wood, rope, metal fasteners

35 x 30 x 45 cm

Two stools, strong in their individuality, evoke both rupture and reconciliation. The design reminds us to be observant and opportunistic in creating opportunities to mend, connect, and rebuild.

This chair was made from a stool that had broken in two. The intention was to preserve its broken shape and incorporate a tactile layer of used rope, found individually on the streets of Paris, cleaned and reused. The structure is reinforced with wire from a discarded lampshade, which supports the circular sections of cut wood.
